It will take a while to write up a post about today’s Ottawa Marathon, but for now let’s just say being a pace bunny is the best job in the world! Loved every minute and would do it again in a second. I recommend all runners give it a try sometime – trust me you will feel like a rock star and you will love helping other runners. Even more fun when you manage to cross the line only 3 seconds off your finish goal. I have never looked at a watch (o.k., watches) so often in my life!
More to come soon.

You were amazing when I saw and wished I could have stayed with you but my friend needed me!!
Good for you for staying with your friend – I think with the weather conditions yesterday’s race was more about supporting other runners and working through tough conditions. Congratulations on being a marathoner!!! I hope you enjoyed it. Are you planning another one in the future?
I followed you the whole way and without you I would not have made it or lucky as we were run the entire 26.2 miles before the cut it short. Thank you so much you made me work just as hard as I wanted too. You took the guess work away from me and I could just concentrate on cooling off.

And Carol Vester (her first ) she already Winsted where her next one would be.
Thank you again.
Thank you so much for your kind words 🙂 One of the best parts of the day for me was watching you guys take off to the finish line – so exciting to watch!!! Wishing both of you many wonderful runs to come. You’re welcome to come back to this site and lete me know about your future races. And maybe I will see you in Ottawa again next year – I’m really hoping to pace again.
Thanks “Swiss Bunny“ , it was the best running day of my life and without you it would not have been the same. Really hope to see you next year.
Good luck in Niagara on your 50k , Anna and i will think of you on the 18th 🙂
So glad the day went well for you and Anna! You two are a perfect example of how running can create a healthy lifestyle and I love that it is something you do together. You were so much fun to run with, I wish I hadn’t missed the two of you finish! Happy running!
Awww, I’m all choked up reading your blog Kristi. I can’t thank you enough for your support. A big weight has lifted from my shoulders since sunday because I put so much pressure on myself to complete my first marathon and wanted to do it in a certain amount of time. Although all I could feel crossing the finish line was relief, I now look back and thank my body, mind and heart to have given me such a great experience. This race has made me stronger and am more determined than ever to tackle the Mtl marathon with my hubby. Big hug xx
I remember that relief after my first marathon! What an accomplishment and isn’t it amazing what our bodies and minds can do? I never in a million years thought I would run one marathon, much less do more! So excited to hear you are feeling good about doing your second. Please let me know how the Montreal race goes. You can also tell me what you think of the race and if I should put it on my list of races to do! Please keep in touch 🙂
I will and if you ever you and your family visit Montreal, let us know, I make a mean plate of pasta, homemade all the way 🙂
now that sounds like a great offer! 🙂
